We use high quality, engineering grade machines and materials. This mandates machines with hardened nozzles and extruders. Hobby grade machines do not have these components needs for abrasive, high end materials that we utilize.
The process starts with the 1st layer, that is bonded to a buildplate. Layer by layer the part is constructed and at the conclusion of the finished part, it must be removed from the buildplate.
Post processing requires removing material such as the supports and additional buildplate bonding material.
Manual removal of scrap material requires additional time and is part of the overall labor cost for each part we sell.
We strive to have these processes done right for a high quality finish.
Sometimes the process has visible layer lines, an overhang and build plate area that is rougher than side walls and top surfaces. Our parts are manufactured to minimize these surfaces. This is a normal byproduct of 3D printing or Additive Manufacturing.
1. Stock displays an excellent top finish. 2. The gap in between the clips shows slightly bumpy support material that was removed. 3. Flat area (top) was bonded to the buildplate
